The following dataset contains the experimental and numerical investigation of compressive loading in foam-filled close cell architectured materials. Quasi-static compression testing was performed on filled and unfilled lattice structures at 5 mm/min to obtain load vs. deformation data. The data was used to calculate mechanical properties such as specific energy absorption, peak load, and crash force efficiency. For numerical investigation, tensile properties of parent material (PETG) and foam were obtained from ASTM D638-14 and ISO 3386-1 respectively. Elastic and plastic properties were extracted for PETG to simulate the mechanical behavior. Videos of compression testing and numerical simulation are included for comparison.
