Description

This study introduces a low-cost single degree of freedom end-effector type compact upper arm rehabilitation system (PARS) along with its necessary hardware and software sections to implement it with gaming environment. Throughout the study detailed explanations of structural setup, electronics, control system and gaming software was given. Proposed virtual gaming interface supports various game levels with different difficulties by the help of utilized interaction type control algorithms within the supplied codes. Thanks to having low cost and easily available components along with open source features, proposed system can be easily manufactured and adapted by every research team working in related field and utilized efficiently considering physical rehabilitation procedures. Also proposed systems compact plug and play design allows its usage in different scenarios including home usage.
