The data are soil properties and vegetation characteristics of larch forest after fires in permafrost region of NE China. Soil properties include soil moisture content, soil temperature, soil salinity, soil electrical conductivity, organic layer thickness, depth of seasonal thawing, moss layer thickness, soil total carbon, soil total nitrogen, soil total phosphorus, soil ammonium nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen. Vegetation characteristics include vegetation species and importance values, vegetation height, aboveground biomass, coverage of understory vegetation, and species diversity of understory vegetation.
