Description

This dataset includes stratigraphic information about the well-cores, sampled for the reconstruction of depositional history of the eastern Drava Basin, located in Croatia (Southern Europe). The samples were analyzed using authigenic 10Be/9Be dating, and resulting radiometric ages were included in Bayesian age-depth modelling using the Bacon package in R. The dataset includes 12 models (graphic outputs and numerical values) with different parameters used, to verify the variability of the resulting models. The well-cores were also analyzed by palynology and the results are included here. This dataset is a supplementary material for the manuscript entitled "Late Miocene to Pliocene Enigma in the SW Pannonian Basin System: New cosmogenic nuclide dating indicates ~1 Myr earlier regression of Lake Pannon and basin inversion" by the same collective of authors.

Steps to reproduce

The well-cores are stored in the repository of the Croatian Geological Survey. The authigenic 10Be/9Be dating was performed in the laboratory of the Department of Geology and Paleontology, Comenius University Bratislava, and the methodology is fully described in Šujan et al. (2024, Mendeley Data, doi: 10.17632/svr45t2xtj.3). Palynological analysis was performed in the laboratory of the Croatian Geological Survey following the procedure of Moore et al. (1991, Pollen analysis. Blackwell Scientific Publications, Oxford).
