This study aimed to compare pregnant women groups medicated with SSRI or mirtazapine as a single treatment, SSRI–mirtazapine combination treatment, unmedicated and healthy control groups with regard to birth outcomes and the severity of the psychiatric disorder

Steps to reproduce

Patient pregnant women were followed up naturalistically over the course of their pregnancy . Group 1 comprised pregnant women with psychiatric disorder and who took SSRI, Group 2 comprised pregnant women with psychiatric disorder and who took mirtazapine, Group 3 comprised pregnant women with psychiatric disorder and who took the combination of SSRI and mirtazapine, Group 4 comprised pregnant women with psychiatric disorder and who elected not to take medication during their pregnancy or discontinued the antidepressants by themselves, and Group 5 comprised pregnant women with no current nor previous psychiatric disorder history.
