Description

This data set is comprised of the electrochemical test data generated in the course of our investigation on the electrochemical response of three different carbon surfaces towards oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in scenarios relevant to galvanic coupling to metals. This dataset is the basis for ranking the electrochemical response of the 3 carbon surfaces towards oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in scenarios relevant to galvanic coupling to metals (in the accompanying article) in the order; CFRP > GC > HOPG. Specifically, the data set is made up of: (a) Triplicate open circuit potential (OCP) data for each carbon surface (This data is the basis for Figure 1 in linked publication). (b) Triplicate potentiodynamic polarization data for each carbon surface (This data set is the basis for Figure 2 in linked publication). (c) First cyclic voltametric scans of each of the 3 carbon surfaces in 50 mM NaCl at pH 7, pH, 10 and pH 12 resoectively (This data set is the basis for Figure 3 in linked publication). (d) Impedance spectroscopy data for the 3 carbon surfaces repectively in 50 mM NaCl adjusted to pH 7 after 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours, 5 hours, and 6 hours immersion immersion (This data set is the basis for Figures 4, 5, and 6 in linked publication were generated from this tests/datasets). (e) Hextuple chronoamperometric data acuired during 1 hour for each of the 3 carbon surfaces in 50 mM NaCl polarized to -1000 mV vs, SCE (This data set is the basis for Figure 7 in linked publication).
