Description

From January 2013 to November 2015, 36 consecutive patients (one 17-year-old pediatric patient and 35 adult patients above 20 years of age) received S2AI pelvic fixation using the freehand technique by a single surgeon. Among sixty-two S2AIs in 36 patients, there were 26 screws (42%) inserted in zone A and 36 (58%) in zone B. There was no difference in demographics between the two groups (Table 2). There were 11 instrumentation breaches (three medial, eight lateral) of the iliac wing in zone A (42%) and 0 in zone B (p<0.0001).
