EU Diplomatic Discourse

Description

The primary data comprises two significant diplomatic speeches that reflect the official position of the European Union. This data selection includes two speeches: 1) Josep Borrell (2022): a speech presented at the European Diplomatic Academy known as the Garden against Jungle address, and 2) Federica Mogherini (2019): remarks regarding the Middle East peace process and the two-state solution. The main objective is to conduct a critical discourse analysis (CDA) of diplomatic speeches delivered by European Union (EU) representatives who were addressing Arab audiences, either directly or indirectly.
