The data presented is data from gasification experiments using municipal solid waste pellet-based downdraft gasifier. there are two files, one file in the form of a spreadsheet whose contents are experimental data that has been processed. the second data is in the form of a powerpoint that contains a series of experimental images and graphs of processed data. the aim of this research are to reduce tar tar content with multi-stage air injection at pyrolysis, oxidation and reduction zone. Gasification performance indicator regarding low heating value (LHV), cold gas efficiency (CGE), gas production rate, and tar concentration. The air in the reduction zone activates the char layer to be more reactive in capturing tar components. Improved performance multi-stage air inlet compared with single stage gasifier can be used as reference optimization of operating conditions for the application of further gasification of both heating and power generation.

Steps to reproduce

this data was obtained from gasification experiments using a downdraft gasifier. The gasification system consists of four main parts: the fuel feeding system, gasifier, ash removal system, syngas conditioning system. The air supplied to the gasifier using a 2-inch blower. The air is heated by utilizing syngas heat on the outer gasifier. There are three air inlets in this gasifier. The first air enters the pyrolysis zone through five nozzles on the outer gasifier wall. The ash/char sweeper is placed on the grating surface to ensure that the residual gasification process does not cover the grate hole and increases the pressure drop. Syngas outlet located on the top side of the outer wall so that syngas has passed through the reduction zone together at the outer and moved up through the air pipe for pyrolysis and reduction. the air flow rate and syngas are measured based on the pressure difference using a pitot tube that is connected to a pressure transducer. gas composition was analyzed using gas chromatography. the temperature distribution along the gasifier is measured using a thermocouple and the data is stored using a data logger. all collected data is processed using Microsoft Excel software and processed data is presented in graphical form. this data can be reproduced by adjusting the contents of the data based on the graph sequence in the journal that has been written.
