Description

This succinct data description's goal is to present the thermal analysis, weight loss biodegradability, load-depth, and nano-mechanical characteristics of natural hydroxyapatite (NHAp) scaffolds made from a novel mixture of biowastes (bovine and catfish bones) using a straightforward sol-gel technique assisted by sintering at 900 oC. For the mechanical measurements, the samples were pelletized using a low cold compaction pressure of 500 Pa. Thermal Analysis (TA) Instruments, Simultaneous TGA/DSC (SDT) Q600 to evaluate the Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA), and Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), which was used for more exact tests, were employed to conduct the HAp thermal stability tests. The compressive strength of the samples was measured using the Universal testing instrument, and its microhardness was measured using a Vickers microhardness tester. The materials were prepared, and the TI 950 Hysitron Tribo-Indenter was used to perform nanoindentation at 25 °C. Calculations were made to determine the pellets' elastic modulus Es and hardness H. According to the nanoindentation results, the elastic moduli for B100, C100, B50/C50, B75/C25, and B25/C75, respectively, were 0.057 GPa, 0.843 GPa, 4.203 GPa, 0.720 GPa, and 4.386 GPa. The constructed scaffolds displayed good nano-mechanical strength and normal weight loss biodegradability.
