Atosiban versus nifedipine for the management of preterm labor: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Description
This dataset contains the data synthesis and supplementary materials for a systematic review and meta-analysis comparing the efficacy and safety of atosiban versus nifedipine in the management of preterm labor. The study synthesizes data from six randomized controlled trials comprising 1,070 patients. The analysis evaluates the comparative effectiveness of these agents in delaying delivery (48 hours and 7 days) and assesses trade-offs between maternal safety profiles and neonatal resource utilization.

This dataset was generated through a systematic review and meta-analysis conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines and registered in PROSPERO. A systematic search was performed on May 25, 2025, across PubMed, EBSCOHost, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials using terms such as "atosiban," "nifedipine," and "preterm labor," without language restrictions. We included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing the two agents in women with clinically diagnosed preterm labor. Data regarding delivery delay, maternal adverse effects, and neonatal outcomes were independently extracted by two reviewers using standardized forms, and risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane RoB 2 tool. Statistical synthesis was performed using R version 4.2.2 with the "meta" package, utilizing the Mantel-Haenszel method to calculate pooled risk ratios (RRs) and the I² statistic to evaluate heterogeneity.
