Description

The Track_Combo.csv (Track_Combo.txt) dataset contains ball-tracking data from a series of exhibition matches between college baseball teams in the United States. Data were recorded at the pitch-level (n = 3,344) by TrackMan V3 optical tracking technology to provide detailed information on pitching and hitting events in the 21 games that were observed. Manual labels for each observed pitch and hit type (TaggedPitchType and TaggedHitType) were incorporated by a trained operator. A variable labeled Count was also included to combine values from the Balls and Strikes columns. Because the recorded data are from exhibition matches, not all games are of a traditional (9 inning) or equal length. Player and team IDs, as well as the game dates, have been anonymized to make them unidentifiable but are consistent throughout the dataset (within games and across games). For labels and descriptions of the included variable columns, please reference the official TrackMan glossary: https://support.trackmanbaseball.com/hc/en-us/articles/5089413493787-V3-FAQs-Radar-Measurement-Glossary-Of-Terms All data are provided with permission of the associated baseball team.
