This appendix offers a codebook for the MLM dataset available in “Medical Liability Insurance Premia 1990-2015: Dataset, Literature Review, and Summary Information,” plus detailed documentation on the procedures used to create the MLM dataset. We document features of the MLM and NAIC premium data with heat maps, comparing patterns in MLM premia to changes in tort reform laws and medical malpractice payout data from the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB). You can download from this "abstract page" this Appendix, together with the Codebook, statistical code, and the "full" version of the dataset (which includes MLM data from 1990-2015).
