Description
The columnar to equiaxed transition during directional solidification of Fe-0.6wt.%C alloy. A conatsnt temperature gradient of 5000 K/m is applied. Simulations with cooling rates of 1 K/s, 5 K/s, and 10 K/s are presented. The cellular automaton model is used to produce the results.
