KEY FACTORS OF SUSTAINABLE PRODUCT DESIGN: BRAND VALUE AND USER EXPERIENCE

In this study, Delphi method and DNAP method were used to explore the key factors for users in their purchasing of notebook computers, and then the key elements of sustainable product design were discussed according to the causal relationship between the key factors.

Entrusted by an international brand, the college students’ purchase of notebook computer was taken as the research object in this research, and the key principles that may affect the college students’ purchase of notebook computer were sorted out, which were aiming at the development of sustainable products. And the following are the specific research steps: 1. Three major factors, Social, Economic and Technology in the product design were taken as the three aspects that may affect the college students’ purchase of notebook computer. Based on the literature review and combined with relevant contents on the designing of notebook computers, 18 basic principles were sorted out. 2. Seven experts were organized to conduct a Delphi Questionnaire Research, (Among the seven experts, two of them were internal executives of enterprises, two of them were the product design professors in universities, and the other three were the product designers who have worked for 10 years), through the research, the above principles were reduced to 14 pieces. 3. The fourteen principles were taken as the content, a direct relationship impact matrix questionnaire was designed to carry out an investigation on college students. 4. DEMATEL Based ANP Method was adopted for the analysis of questionnaires, and the key principles that may affect the college students’ purchase of notebook computer were sorted out and obtained. And Borda’ Rules was adopted for the analysis over the causality among the key principles, so as to form a Network Relations Map (NRM) among the key principles.
