Soil properties of different organic fertilizers under soil replacement

Description

A field experiment was conducted. A randomized block design was set up with different soil layer replacement depths (0-20 cm and 20-40 cm replacement (T0), 0-30 cm and 30-60 cm replacement (T1)) and fertilization treatments(no replacement + no fertilization (BCK), blank control (CK), conventional chemical fertilization (CF), three concentration levels of different organic fertilizers (biochar (CBO, CBT, CBH), cow manure (CNO, CNT, CNH), and liquor brewing sludge-derived organic fertilizers (CYO, CYT, CYH)).

Steps to reproduce

During the maize harvesting period, the surface soil (0 - 20 cm) was collected using the five-point sampling method. Debris such as gravel and roots were removed. The soil was naturally air-dried in a cool place, passed through 2 mm and 0.149 mm sieves, and then sealed for storage. The soil pH and electric conductivity (EC) were determined using the potentiometric method (NY/T 1377-2007), the bulk density (BD) was measured by the ring knife method, and the water content was determined by the gravimetric method(Qian et al., 2025). Soil organic carbon (SOC), total nitrogen (TN), available nitrogen (AN), available phosphorus (AP), and available potassium (AK) were measured using the conventional methods described in Soil Agrochemical Analysis (Bao, 2000).
