The file contains a list of around 47000 publications, obtained from Scopus using a single query with the full term “Radio Frequency Identification” OR its acronym “RFID”, which were searched for in the abstract, title or keywords of the papers. The original list of results was cleaned and used for a set of bibliometric analyses proposed in a related publication

Steps to reproduce

For retrieving the relevant papers, a single query was made on Scopus, with the full term “Radio Frequency Identification” OR its acronym “RFID”, which were searched for in the abstract, title or keywords of the papers. The query, carried out in February 2024, initially returned 50,732 results. Then, some refinements were made. The publication time span was limited to 2023, to gather meaningful results in terms of citations, which will be used as the typical measure of the publication success in the later steps of the research. Indeed, papers are likely to attract citations when some years have elapsed since their publication, and consequently, too recent papers could bias the analysis. Citations data of the same papers were updated at the end of 2025.
