Leishmania major (Friedlin) genome: alignment of Illumina sequence reads
Description
This dataset contains the files (bam and bam.bai) generated after the alignment to the assembled genome of the Leishmania major (Friedlin strain) species of the Illumina sequence reads derived from the whole DNA sequencing of this parasite by Illumina technology. The preparation and processing of the Illumina data used for creating this dataset are described in the article by Camacho et al (PMID: 34573340); the raw data are publicly available at the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA; http://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/) under the Study accession number PRJEB25921.

Steps to reproduce
1. Open the genome fasta file for L. major (Friedlin) available at Mendeley repository (https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/mcxg7rt2rv/2) using the IGV tool (or equivalent genome viewer) 2. Load the file alignment_illumina_vs_JM_FINAL_sorted.bam (note that the bam.bai file should be located in the same folder).
