Data was generated through a household survey conducted in 2019 in Karimganj district of Assam, one of the remotest districts of India bordering Bangladesh. The sample includes households where children were living with their mother. Four hundred and fifty of such households were selected purposively for the study out of which, 200 households were from urban areas and the rest 250 are from rural areas of the district. Purposive simple random sampling technique was followed for the selection of sample households from all parts of the district to make the sample a representative one. Final sample includes 432 households, 18 respondents were discarded due to inaccurate and missing details.
