Effects of Breastfeeding position on back pain

Postpartum mothers choose a range of breastfeeding positions, which may lead to musculoskeletal problems such as low back pain and neck pain. The aim of this study is to compare various positions used by breastfeeding mothers, such as cradle hold, laid-back, and side-lying, in relation to low back pain

Steps to reproduce

A cohort of one hundred two women, aged 20-42 years, who were suffering from low back pain during breastfeeding participated in this cross-sectional survey, was selected. They were asked several questions on the bases of QBPS which they had been facing during breastfeeding along with that they were asked to mark a point on VAS in order to know the intensity of pain faced by them. The Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and Friedman’s test.
