The degree of polymerisation was measured in pieces of new and aged insulation, following IEC 60450. Dog-bone shaped samples were used for in-plane tensile testing at 35ᵒ to the MD, with a constant rate of elongation equivalent to the one proposed in ISO 1924-2. A modification of ISO 12192 was used to measure the edgewise compressive properties of paper samples which consisted of two concentric cylinders.
