Description

In total, 261 articles reporting BLL and/or LPR data for Chinese children from 267 prefectural level cities were published between 2001 and 2020. From key reviewed publications, samples were inclined to be from higher infrastructure areas with a tendency for lower BLLs and often sampling did not include prefecture-level city data; without which results were incomplete. Limited and censored data from only large cities does not accurately represent of the situation of the country as a whole; as larger cities with better infrastructure and policies tend to do better when it comes to environmental protection efforts than most small and medium cities in China.
