SinaiU-OMP Dataset: A Curated Histopathological Image Dataset for Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology to Support AI Research
Description
The SinaiU-OMD Dataset is a curated collection of 300 anonymized histopathological images representing key oral and maxillofacial lesions, including Normal oral mucosa, Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC), Odontogenic Keratocyst (OKC), Ameloblastoma-Plexiform (AB), and Pleomorphic Adenoma (PA). Images were acquired from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections stained with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and represent diagnostic fields selected by experienced oral and maxillofacial pathologists. Each image is labeled at the image level with the confirmed diagnosis; grading or segmentation masks are not provided. This dataset is intended for research and educational purposes, particularly for the development and benchmarking of artificial intelligence models in computational oral and maxillofacial pathology. Ethical approval was obtained from the Research Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Dentistry, Sinai University (Arish branch) (Ref: OMS 1-03-024).
