Description

These three datasets include data for the variables of business cycle synchronization (eight year period with one year window, eight year period with four year window and eight year period non overlapping), institutional distance, cultural distance, geographical distance and time dummies. They also indicate categorical (0 or 1) variables that indicate which where the treated EMU countries and which were the non-treated countries. They also indicate the timing of EMU intervention. I use these data to test with a difference in differences specification if the degree of business cycle synchronization was higher (or lower) compared to what would have been in case that the euro had not been adopted.
