Description

For the purposes of openness and transparency, we have uploaded the dataset and analytic code associated with the manuscript, “Text-Messaging with a Conversational AI as an Out-group Member: Preliminary Evidence for New Applications of Intergroup Contact ” In this study, we investigated whether brief electronic contact (e-contact) with an AI-generated out-group member can reduce prejudice. Results showed increased positive attitudes and reduced negative explicit attitudes in the contact condition compared to the control group, but no effects on intergroup anxiety or implicit attitudes measured by the IAT.
