Description

The FEBio model files provided in this Mendeley Dataset were used to produce the computational results in the paper "Poynting effect in fluid-saturated poroelastic soft materials in torsion" (published in the International Journal of Non-Linear Mechanics in March 2024). The model files were run with the open-source finite element software FEBio (Version 1.9.0).

Steps to reproduce

The folder "FEB Files" contains three subfolders, each pertaining to a different material model: • Weakly Compressible Elastic Cylinder (WCSM): Contains one .feb file implementing the weakly-compressible solid model (dubbed WCSM in the paper). • Weakly Compressible Biphasic Cylinder (WCBM): Contains four .feb files implementing the weakly compressible biphasic model (WCBM), each corresponding to a different ramp time for the imposed rotation. The bulk modulus and referential hydraulic permeability can be adjusted by varying the parameters "k" and "perm". • Fully Compressible Biphasic Cylinder (FCBM): Contains four .feb files implementing the fully compressible biphasic model (FCBM), each corresponding to a different ramp time. The bulk modulus and referential hydraulic permeability can be varied by following the same steps as above.
