Description

Two zipped tar archives and one zipped Python object are provided. The Saturn_H2_Results.tar.gz archive contains density and temperature profiles retrieved from individual stellar occultations in simple text files where the header explains the contents of the files. The PythonCode.tar.gz archive includes Python codes provided for convenience that read the results from the above results files and recreate the empirical models and figures from the paper. The SaturnModelPickle.gz is a zipped Python pickle dump that includes a class object containing the thermosphere model and data, as originally generated.

Steps to reproduce

The results were retrieved from Cassini UV Imaging Spectrograph (UVIS) observations of Saturn's upper atmosphere and fitted with a two-dimensional parametric model to characterize the density and temperature variations with latitude. IDL, Fortran and Python were used at different stages of analysis and interpretation. Full description of the analysis can be found in the accompanying Icarus publication.
