This dataset contains empirical data collected in a study conducted in a prototype automated vehicle on a test track. Drivers experienced manual driving, SAE L2 and SAE L3 driving. Continuously, they were presented with a passive auditory oddball task employing two types of beep tones and novel environmental sounds. Their electroencephalography (EEG) was recorded using a 32-channel cap with active electrodes and digitalised with a 1000 Hz sampling frequency. Moreover, we administered the NASA-TLX and the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale after each experimental condition. Thirty participants joined the experiment.
