Description

All files generated for the manuscript titled: “Genome size affects fitness in the eukaryotic alga Dunaliella tertiolecta” Authors: Martino E. Malerba, Giulia Ghedini, Dustin J. Marshall Journal: Current Biology (accepted) ——————— Instructions for accessing the data: There are three main folders: (1) Appendix 1: has all the files used to design the Appendix 1 in this manuscript (2) Microscopy photos (selection): has all original photos (both fluorescent and brightfield) for 15 lineages taken after 450 generations of size-selection. Due to the large size of each file, we could only upload a subsample of all photos. (3) All codes, analyses and figures: inside there are subfolders with all codes to generate the plots and the statistics for each analysis Within the folder “All codes, analyses and figures”: In each subfolder, open the .R script using the statistical software R. Within the script file: (1) check that all packages are installed in the computer (otherwise install before running the script), and (2) set the directory where the script is located in the computer. After having done that, everything else should work by simply running the file in R. The script will read all data, calculate the statistics, plot the images, and save the images in the same folder. The file is designed to run in Mac computers.
