Description

For Mg/Ca analysis, approximately 25–30 shells of G. sacculifer from the 250–355 μm size fraction were selected. The cleaned shells were then dissolved in 0.075-M QD HNO3 and analyzed using inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometer. Mg/Ca values were converted to SST by using the calibration equation SST (°C) = ln [Mg/Ca (mmol/mol)/0.38]/0.09 for G. sacculifer, as proposed by Anand et al. (2003).
