The research data comprises data collected through personally interviewing members/ heads of shifting cultivator households of eleven districts from 'seven sister' states (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura) of the disadvantageous Northeastern region of India. The raw and processed data are all intended to come out with different kinds of indices for apprising the livelihood sustainability of the shifting cultivator households in the region.
