Description

To evaluate the antifouling performance of the TiO2-based glass-ceramic coating, a rapid test was conducted within a marine environment. Following exposure, barnacle number was counted using the cell counter add-on for ImageJ. Additionally, an examination of the easy-clean capabilities of the glass-ceramic coating was undertaken, involving a cleaning procedure, followed by a subsequent barnacle counting process. This dataset contributes valuable insights into the performance of the coating in resisting fouling and its ease of cleaning.

Steps to reproduce

1) TiO2 glass-ceramic coating was subjected to a rapid antiofuling test in marine environment. This test methodology was presented at the 18th International Congress on Marine Corrosion and Fouling (ICMCF) in Toulon in 2016. 2) Barnacles were counted from glass-ceramic coating surface by utilizing the cell counter add-on for ImageJ. 3) A cleaning procedure was performed. The surface was wiped in two directions with a certain number of strokes, using one side of the swab for each direction. 4) Barnacles were counted from glass-ceramic coating surface by utilizing the cell counter add-on for ImageJ.
