Description

In this study, users of intelligent chatbots in libraries were investigated and distributed through social media. Before the formal investigation, a pre-survey is conducted for some users to measure whether the questionnaire is easy to understand and the content is reasonable. The questionnaire is modified according to the pre-survey results and a formal questionnaire is obtained. The questionnaires were collected from September 9 to October 27, 2023. After excluding invalid questionnaires, a total of 377 valid questionnaires were collected, which is more than 10 times of the observed variables and meets the sample size requirement. In the distribution of demographic characteristics of the interviewees, the number of females was slightly higher than that of males in terms of gender distribution, but there was little difference in the overall distribution. In terms of age distribution, the number of people aged 18-25 years is the largest. In terms of education level distribution, undergraduates account for majority followed by junior college students. Regarding occupation distribution, students constitute majority followed by employees from enterprises and companies.

After they had used the library chatbot, they were asked to fill out the questionnaire. By setting test questions and eliminating invalid questionnaires and those that took less than one minute to fill, 377 valid questionnaires were obtained and the data were analyzed.
