Description

General description: This dataset represents preliminary results of modeling the ecological niche and potential distribution of Chionaspis pinifoliae (Fitch, 1856) (Insecta, Hemiptera, Sternorrhyncha, Diaspididae) in MaxEnt software version 3.4.1. The source of data on the occurrences of Ch. pinifoliae was GBIF dataset (2021). Data on bioclimatic environmental variables were obtained from raster layers of WorldClim v. 2.1 representing average values of climate data for 1970-2000 (Fick, Hijmans, 2017). Data processing and mapping were performed in QGIS (QGIS.org). Layer of administrative boundaries are based on geoBoundaries by the William & Mary geoLab (Runfola et al., 2020). Some versions of the experiment with other parameters show a slightly higher AUC value. However, the result presented here (with parameters: feature types used: hinge, product, linear, threshold, quadratic; maximum background points: 50,000; maximum iterations: 1000; default prevalence: 0.5; regularization multiplier: 10) seems to me the most likely, because it best matches the current distribution of the species (GBIF, 2021; CABI ISC, 2019). Of course, the actual distribution of the species will be determined not only by climate suitability but also by the availability of suitable host plants. Content of the dataset 1. Chionaspis pinifoliae - MaxEnt (3.4.1) experiment data: source data of the experiment. 2. Chionaspis pinifoliae (map): interpretation of the results in vector map format (Esri shapefiles, QGIS project) and raster image format. 3. Chionaspis pinifoliae sample (GBIF): the sample of occurrences (GBIF) used in the experiment. References Chionaspis pinifoliae (pine leaf scale). In: Invasive Species Compendium.
