Description

Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic cholangiopathy characterized by progressive inflammation and fibrosis of the biliary tree, with limited therapeutic options. Dysregulated immune responses and altered bile acid signaling are hallmarks of the disease, but how these processes intersect at the level of cholangiocytes remains incompletely understood. We explored the contribution of impaired bile acid sensing in cholangiocytes to activation of the interleukin-23 (IL-23)/T helper 17 (Th17) axis in PSC.
