Significant differences between the zones studied were explored using a permutational analysis of variance (PERMANOVA), applying a hierarchical design with two factors and their interaction. The factors considered for the analysis were Years (two levels; 2017, 2021; random) and Zones (five levels; Z1, Z2, Z3, Z4, Z5; random and nested within Years), with the sampling years treated as a hierarchical factor. The analysis was based on the distance matrix calculated using Euclidean distances on previously normalized data. Each term was tested using 999 random permutations of the appropriate unit. Similarly, the relationship between the values obtained in the defined zones was analyzed using multivariate non-metric multidimensional scaling ordination techniques with the software Primer-PERMANOVA v 6.0. Finally, the relationship of the variables measured in sediments was analyzed through Spearman's rank correlation analysis with the specialized software Statistica v 7.
