refugee Qol
Description
Refugee adolescents’ quality of life (Qol) was not examined during the Covid 19 pandemic, which potentially impacts refugee adolescents’ Qol. This study planned to investigate refugee adolescents’ Qol and its association with depression and quality of life. Our hypotheses can be listed as: 1. Higher depressive symptoms are negatively associated with quality of life in refugee adolescents. 2. Personality dysfunctional characteristics are negatively associated with quality of life in refugee adolescents. 3. Personality traits are positively associated with depressive symptoms. 301 adolescents aged between 14 and 18 who immigrated from Syria were included in the study. Personality Inventory for DSM-5 Brief Form, Beck Depression Scale, and Life Quality Scale was used as assessment tools. The data were tested using structural equation modeling. Both depressive symptoms and personality traits are associated with low Qol. Also, depression mediated the relationship between personality disorder and Qol.
