Awareness and Prevalence of Caffeine Intake and Risk of Hypertension among Indian health care professionals : ( A survey study )

The aim of this study is to check or determine the prevalence and need for awareness of caffeine intake and risk of hypertension among Indian Health care Professionals. This study was a cross-sectional survey study. 246 Indian health care professionals of age group between 19 to 45 years participated in an online survey. The questionnaire had 5 parts and it was circulated among Indian health care professionals using a link by social media applications and E-mails. This study shows that out of 246 responses and according to the participants 54.3% of health care professionals consume caffeinated drinks, 42% consume caffeinated beverages for staying awake ,38% are not happy with their quality of sleep,47.8% feels that they have insomnia sometimes, 73.9% feels dizziness and 40.4% feels acid reflux or burning in stomach after caffeine consumption and only 34.3% Indian health care professionals are aware of negative effects of consuming a lot of caffeine. there is need of more awareness and knowledge among Indian health care professionals of daily caffeine intake and negative effects of caffeine consumption and risk of developing hypertension so that the several cardiovascular diseases or risks can be prevented .
