The dataset was developed by collecting questions on aflatoxin contamination from stakeholders in the maize and groundnut value chain. The stakeholders included farmers, traders, and consumers from 6 regions in Tanzania. These regions were Arusha, Morogoro, Tabora, Mtwara, Iringa, and Dodoma. The collection of questions was done through conducted focus group discussions. Aflatoxin experts and researchers then answered the collected questions. These experts and researchers come from selected organizations dealing with aflatoxin contamination. The organizations included the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS), the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF), the Tanzania Initiative for Preventing Aflatoxin Contamination (TANIPAC), and the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST). The complete dataset was created by pairing the questions and answers and then locating each pair to a specific knowledge area. The completed set was then translated into Swahili language.
