Cavendish_Banana_Transcriptome_Dataset
Description
Transcriptomic dataset from The data in this article included the transcriptomics of 6 plantlets from the control groups watered with sterile distilled water, and six plantlets from the treatment group were watered with 60 mg L-1 of silica fertiliser. Acclimatisation was conducted for 110 days under 16-hour lighting and room temperature conditions. After 110 days, Foc TR4 infections were introduced to 6 plantlets from each control and treatment group. The process is conducted by cutting around 1-2 cm of plantlet roots to enhance infection and adding 3 mL of Foc TR4 conidia suspensions into the soil around the plantlet’s roots. The global gene expression changes from the transcriptomics of cavendish banana plantlets were evaluated—the files of the transcriptomics dataset, which were generated from 12 libraries of raw data.

Steps to reproduce
The total RNA of the cavendish banana was extracted from the plantlet using Cordeiro’s method. The RNA concentration was measured using a NanoDrop spectrophotometer (Eppendorf BioSpetometer® Kinetic) at the wavelength of 230, 260, and 280, then performed rRNA bands check using an electrophoresis technique on a 1.5% agarose gel. RNA was then purified from DNA contaminant using a DNAseI kit from Thermo Scientific (Catalog Number: EN0521). The RNA library from the cavendish banana was constructed using the Direct RNA Sequencing Kit and was sequenced using GridION Oxford Nanopore Technology.
