Description

Medical Image Feature Extracor (MIFE) is a Server-based Web Platform, whose main objective is to provide the scientific community with an alternative where programming knowledge is not required to obtain biomarkers from medical images. In addition, this tool is based on Image Biomarker Standardization Initiative (IBSI), the aim of IBSI is the homogenization of the calculation of imaging biomarkers, providing nomenclature and definitions of consensus-based features, reporting guidelines, data sets and reference values. Thus, while MIFE is IBSI compliant, it contributes to the creation of data sets with standardized values, helping in such a way to the scientific community in order that can be used to replicate experiments and compare values obtained on different researchers. As is marked by IBSI, MIFE is available to extract a wide variety of feature types, which includes: First Order Statistics features, Morphological features, Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) Features, Gray Level Run Length Matrix (GLRLM) Features, Gray Level Size Zone Matrix (GLSZM) Features, and Neighborhood Gray Tone Difference Matrix (NGTDM) Features. On this PDF document, is provided a data glossary, where it can be found the description of data obtained in .csv file by using MIFE platform, also, a nomenclature used in MIFE is given and a match with the nomenclature managed by IBSI is made.
