Description
This dataset include the whole rock major and trace element compositions of harzburgite from the Xigaze ophiolites in southern Tibet. It also includes the major and trace element compositions of olivine, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene, spinel, tremolite and carbonate minerals in the harzburgites, and the structrual hydroxyl of orthopyroxene and clinopyroxene. These data show that the harzburgite reflect high degrees of melt extraction at mid-ocean ridge, but experience fluid metasomatism during ophiolite emplacement. This metasomatic process greatly affects the whole rock and mineral compositions of the harzburgite.
