Description

This data comprises the methylation levels of ATOH1 and the microRNA (miR) -375 in Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) cell lines. ATOH1 expression is likely to be modulated by differential DNA methylation in the ATOH1 promoter region (<1500 bps before ATG start codon) in MCC cell lines and MCC tissue samples. ATOH1 is a transcriptional activator of miR-375, which is also hypomethylated in classcial MCC cell lines (PeTa, WaGa, MKL-2, MKL-1, UM-MCC52, UM-MCC34, UM-MCC623) compared to variant MCC cell lines (MCC13, MCC26 and UISO). Methylation was measured using the illumina EPIC array. Please see the metadata file for further information.
