Description

A two-dimensional model was created for investigating and simulating the lithospheric transformations of southern Bozgush and the Benavaran fault, which affects its transformation, were separated in this study’s model. The finite element numerical solution was therefore used in the ANSYS software. The results of the Benavaran fault numerical modeling showed that the stresses applied to the region’s south had produced significant displacement and increased earthquake probability at the terminations of this. Modeling results correlated closely with the stress values obtained from field measurements. The evidence present in the region, confirms the fact that many parts of this region are covered with quaternary sediments. Finally, this study reaffirms that the finite element method is a more flexible method that is able to overcome the complexity of natural event modeling.
