Description

The PM Sensor Board is an auxiliary board capable of driving a wide variety of connections. It is mainly intended to serve as an I2C bridge between the Data Board and several types of sensors, as well as to provide an off-the-shelf connection to the Plantower PMS5003 sensors supporting JST-XH connectors. The board runs a dedicated ARM M0+ 32-bits, the same as to the Data Board to provide a unified hardware architecture. The board includes a step up to provide 5V to drive the PM sensors and a disable/enable circuit to turn off the sensor by software. Finally, this board includes a standard set of Grove Connectors, including I2C bridge, 12bit ADC, GPIO and UART interfaces, for auxiliary sensors such as external temperature probes or anemometers. This work is led by IAAC Fab Lab Barcelona team under the framework of iSCAPE (Improving Smart Control of Air Pollution in Europe) project, which is funded by the European Community’s H2020 Programme (H2020-SC5-04-2015) under the Grant Agreement No. 689954. All the authors acknowledge the funding received via the iSCAPE project.
