Carbon Pricing and Sustainable Tourism Development

Description

This replication package contains the datasets, Stata code, policy audit records, and supplementary analysis files supporting the study “Geography Matters: Uneven Tourism Responses to Carbon Pricing across 190 Economies.” The materials cover the main estimations, event-study diagnostics, robustness checks, placebo tests, and additional analyses of tourism responses to emissions trading systems and carbon taxes.

Steps to reproduce

The analyses were conducted using Stata. To reproduce the results, download and extract the replication package, open the relevant Stata do-files, and update the working directories to match the local file paths. Load the corresponding datasets and execute the do-files associated with each table and analysis. The package includes the main estimation procedures, pre-trend diagnostics, placebo tests, robustness checks, and supplementary analyses. Some simulations may require additional computation time.
