Measured PV Generation and Utility Billing Dataset — Residential Grid-Tied System under Zero-Export Operation (Arequipa, Peru, 2019–2026)
Description
Measured electrical-energy data from a residential grid-tied photovoltaic system (1.36 kWp, Growatt MIN 2500TL-XE inverter) operating under a strict zero-export constraint in Arequipa, Peru, together with the household's complete utility billing record covering the pre- and post-installation periods. The deposit contains three files. Two are generation series exported from the ShinePhone cloud telemetry platform, where electrical parameters were sampled at five-minute intervals through a ShineWiFi-X module and aggregated by the platform: appendix_daily_generation.csv, a daily generation record of 1,645 measured days (1 July 2021 – 31 December 2025, complete calendar coverage, no missing days), and appendix_monthly_generation.csv, a monthly-energy matrix of 55 measured months (June 2021 – December 2025) with annual totals. The third file, Electricity consumption from all the bills of a house in Peru.xlsx, reproduces 88 monthly grid-import readings and their corresponding charges from the distribution utility's bills (January 2019 – April 2026), spanning two pre-installation years and the full post-installation period. Cumulative measured generation is 2,888.7 kWh from the monthly matrix; the daily series sums to 2,872.2 kWh. The 16.5 kWh difference comprises June 2021 (12.4 kWh, the commissioning month, present in the monthly matrix but outside the daily series) and 4.1 kWh arising in four months where the platform's monthly register and the daily series recorded at 0.1 kWh/day resolution diverge by no more than 1.9 kWh; both components are itemised in README.md. Inter-annual generation variability is CV = 1.78 % (2022–2025, population SD) and day-to-day variability CV = 25.8–31.6 % across full operating years. These are the primary field data supporting the manuscript "Beyond Net Metering: Design and Performance of a Hybrid Solar Strategy for Cost Efficiency and Security of Supply in Intermittent Urban Grids" (Sustainability, MDPI; manuscript ID sustainability-4438216). See README.md for the variable dictionary, the reconciliation of the two generation series, and reproducible summary statistics.

Steps to reproduce
Generation data were recorded by a Growatt MIN 2500TL-XE grid-tied inverter (1.36 kWp array) fitted with a ShineWiFi-X telemetry module, sampling at 5-minute intervals. Daily and monthly energy totals were exported directly from the ShinePhone cloud platform in CSV format without further processing. appendix_daily_generation.csv contains one record per day; appendix_monthly_generation.csv contains the year-by-month aggregation of the same series. Summary statistics reported in the associated manuscript (total generation, inter-annual and day-to-day coefficients of variation) can be reproduced from appendix_daily_generation.csv using standard descriptive statistics; the variable dictionary and exact formulas are given in README.md.
