Dataset of Requirements Engineering for Older Adult Digital Health Software: A Systematic Literature Review
Description
This dataset contains raw, analyzed, and related data collected for a systematic literature review (SLR) on Requirements Engineering for Older Adult Digital Health Software. The raw data includes the primary studies retrieved from various databases, while the analyzed data consists of extracted information, categorized findings, and statistical summaries relevant to the research questions. Additionally, related data such as metadata, quality assessment results, and supplementary materials are provided to enhance transparency and reproducibility. The readme and data dictionary can be found in the file: Data_dictionary

Steps to reproduce
1. Concept Mapping & Search String Formulation [Section 3 of our SLR] We defined three key concept groups: (1) aging-related terms (e.g., elderly, senior, residential aging care), (2) requirements engineering terms (e.g., requirement elicitation, extraction), and (3) software engineering terms (e.g., UX, UI, co-design). These concepts were combined into search strings tailored for each database. 2. Database Selection & Search Execution In October 2023, we searched eight databases: ACM Digital Library, IEEE Xplore, Inspec, Springer, Wiley, Sage Journals Online, Taylor & Francis Online, and Scopus. These were selected for their relevance to both computer science and healthcare. The details of search string can be found in the main paper of SLR section 3.2 3. Study Identification & Screening Initial Retrieval: 99 studies were identified. Deduplication: 94 studies remained after removing duplicates. Title Screening: 94 studies were reviewed, excluding 2 non-English or <5-page papers (92 studies). Abstract & Title Screening: Two authors independently reviewed studies, selecting 54 for full-text screening. Snowballing: 20 additional studies were added. Final Selection: After full-text screening, 69 studies were included. The details of process can be found in SLR section 3.3-3.4 4.Quality Assessment A quality matrix was applied but did not exclude any studies. The report can be found in primary_Studies, sheet one, in column: Quality Score(out of 40), Quality Score(average), Quality Score(average ceiling), info-Quality, objective-Quality, method-Quality, recruitment-Quality, data analysis -Quality, findings-Quality, limitation-Quality, citations-Quality
