  • This dataset contains raw primary temperature data obtained from the three HCOHPs charged with ethanol, methanol, and deionized water respectively and tested in the laboratory using three different heat inputs. The maximum heat input element temperatures were 100°C, 125°C and 192°C, for test Run 1, 2 and 3, respectively. The temperature data were obtained from three Omega K-type thermocouples attached to each condenser and evaporator of the HCOHP respectively, two attached to the adiabatic sections, and two attached to the inner and outer surfaces of the cylindrical copper vessel for the heat transfer. The other dataset is derived from the average temperatures from the raw primary temperature data. Here, relevant equations for the determination of the heat flux, power input, thermal contact resistance and overall thermal resistance was used. The data are presented on six separate Excel files. The first three files are captioned HCOHP Primary Data – Run 1, HCOHP Primary Data – Run 2, and HCOHP Primary Data – Run 3 representing raw primary temperature data for the three HCOHPs for each test run. The second three Excel files are captioned HCOHP Derived Data – Run 1, HCOHP Derived Data – Run 2, and HCOHP Derived Data – Run 3 represent the derived data obtained from the average raw primary temperature data for each test run. In the Excel files EOHP, MOHP and WOHP represents the ethanol charged HCOHP, methanol charged HCOHP and deionized water charged HCOHP, respectively.

  • This data set comes from purse information provided by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) and the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC). The NSAC provided purse information on professional boxing matches in that state from 2009 to 2017. The CSAC provided purse information for the period June 2012 to December 2015 and its website provided purse information for 12 additional boxing cards held between 2016 and 2017, which are also included in the data set. After excluding female boxers and a few other minor exclusions, the result is an unbalanced panel of 1,212 boxers observed an average of 3.85 fights.

  • This data is from the research article entitled “Electrical resistivity of pure copper processed by medium-powered laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing for use in electromagnetic applications” [in press]. This article presents data from a series of tests which were taken on rectangular 3D printed specimens in order to determine the electrical resistivity of the material. Variations to the specimens include different initial build orientations and different heat treatments to determine their effects on resistivity. Resistance measurements were taken along with the physical dimensions of each specimen.

  • An open-source code toolbox for the numerical simulation of multiphase flow in a PEM fuel cell has been developed using OpenFOAM. The toolbox includes a main program, relevant library classes, and a constructed simulation case for a co-flow galvanostatic simulation. The mathematical model accounts for liquid water formation, transport, and their effects in the fuel cell.
