Teacher Goals Questionnaire and Teaching Scenarios Measure: Turkish Adaptation Data
Description
This dataset contains the raw survey data collected for a three-study research program adapting two teacher motivation instruments into Turkish: the Teacher Goals Questionnaire (TGQ; Jang, 2019), which assesses teachers' intrinsic and extrinsic instructional goals, and the Teaching Scenarios Measure (Reeve et al., 2014), which assesses teachers' autonomy-supportive versus controlling motivating style. Data were collected online from teachers working in various provinces of Türkiye. The dataset includes five files, corresponding to five independent teacher samples: TGQ-EFA.xlsx: responses used for the exploratory factor analysis of the TGQ (Study 1). TGQ-CFA.xlsx: responses used for the confirmatory factor analysis of the TGQ (Study 1). Mot_Sen_EFA.xlsx: responses used for the exploratory factor analysis of the Teaching Scenarios Measure (Study 2). Mot_Sen_CFA.xlsx: responses used for the confirmatory factor analysis of the Teaching Scenarios Measure (Study 2). study3_SEM Veriler.xlsx: responses from a fourth, independent sample to which both the TGQ and the Teaching Scenarios Measure were administered jointly, used to test whether instructional goals predict motivating style (Study 3). Each file contains participants' demographic information (gender, school level, professional tenure, age) and item-level responses on a 7-point Likert-type scale. Item wording is in Turkish; the original English item wording and scoring instructions are reported in the associated manuscript.
